FAQ’s

Most of your guests will have questions about your big day, here are all the important ones to include on your FAQ page.

General

We offer free parking at our Carmarthen & Lampeter venues. Please contact us to discuss parking in Swansea.

All delegates and guests can benefit from complimentary Wi-Fi at all our sites. As a university we use eduroam as our Wi-Fi provider, therefore any visiting staff or student from other educational establishments can simply log on by using their existing university login details.

For day conferences and residential guests, guest Wi-Fi passes will be provided to the event leader. A voucher will be needed for each device.

All campuses have 24hr on-site security and reception facilities where first aid personnel are available to deal with any out of hours emergencies.

Postal deliveries can be accepted during your stay however any postal/carriage charges remain the responsibility of the recipient.

Conferences and Events

Depending on the agreement, organisers may have access to set-up the night before, however, on occasion, an evening meeting or conference may prevent access.

All conference suites at the Halliwell Centre have disabled access with a ramp and a wheelchair lift. The Lloyd Thomas Centre, however, has rooms with access available for people with mobility issues.

A sound induction system for the hearing impaired is available in both the Halliwell Centre and the Lloyd Thomas Centre.

Yes, we have both video and telephone conferencing facilities. Please contact the bookings team for further details.

Organisers are not permitted to bring in own food or catering company. Both the Halliwell Centre and Lloyd Thomas Centre have on-site catering which can be prearranged. Whether it be a buffet or full board you can be assured that all our meals are freshly prepared by our team of talented chefs. We can create a meal package to suit all requirements – ask for details of our extensive catering options.

Our chefs are very experienced at providing meals that meet most dietary needs. This information will be required at time of booking confirmation. We offer a diverse range of menus to suit any needs. Please contact us should you have any severe allergies or any specific dietary requirements – we will be only too happy to discuss specific needs with you.

Your company will be invoiced after your event. The invoice will be sent to you by email and payment is requested within 30 days of receipt. Larger bookings may require a deposit. The finality of numbers will be explained in our terms and conditions which will accompany your booking form.

Residential Groups and Accommodation

In order to meet our sustainability targets, for longer stays, bedding is changed once weekly with towels changed every three days (subject to group arrangements).

Carmarthen and Lampeter also benefit from on-site leisure facilities and sporting provision. Individuals are able to arrange temporary gym membership whilst residential groups can pre-book timetabled sporting provision and facilities through the conference staff on campus.

We have laundry facilities available for use at reasonable rates.

Guests can also avail themselves of Student Union facilities (limited opening hours during vacation time). Residential groups must pre-book these services through our conference staff.

All our campuses are ideally suited as bases to explore all of South, Mid and West Wales along with our close proximity to the fantastic Welsh coastline and the All Wales Coastal Footpath.

Historical castles and country estates are on our doorstep, while Cardiff, Swansea, the Gower and Pembrokeshire are within a short travelling distance along with several National Museums of Wales’ establishments for your great day out. Speak with our knowledgeable conference staff who will be able to guide you towards getting the most out of your days out.

Weddings

Both the Halliwell Centre and the Lloyd Thomas Centre have a chapel on site, however, you will need to have an affiliation to the University of Wales Trinity Saint David in order to use the venues four your wedding ceremony.

The Lloyd Thomas Centre also has a license to hold a marriage ceremony in its Old Hall and Founders Library.

Yes, you can drop table plans, name cards, favours etc. the day before your wedding if it has been agreed with us beforehand.

Yes, we have high chairs available which you are welcome to use.

If you require a microphone and PA system, this can be supplied for speeches we provide these free of charge with some of our packages. We have stand/roaming and lapel mikes available

In order to conform to our Premises Licence and out of consideration for local residents, all wedding party bars will close by 12 midnight.

We need an idea of your final numbers 6 weeks prior to your wedding date and actual final numbers need to be confirmed 4 weeks before your wedding.

When you come for a show-round we can give you a comprehensive contact list with details of local suppliers such as photographers, florists, cake makers etc.

It is essential that we offer a consistently high standard of catering and therefore only offer our own excellent catering.

Yes, as long as we know in advance then we can cater for all dietary needs.

Yes, you may bring in your own Wine and champagne however we do request a corkage service of £7.50 per bottle. If there is something specific you would like to offer to your guests which isn’t on our wine list we will be happy to try and source it on your behalf.

Anyone aged 12 and under is classified as a child.

A deposit of £500 is required at the time of booking. You will be invoiced the final amount 30 days prior to your wedding. The invoice will be sent to you by email and payment is requested within 30 days of receipt.
